Suely Torres

Suely is the founder, curator and director of the German Migration Museum. Born in Recife, she studied literature at the UFPE and then at the UFRJ, in Rio de Janeiro. At the end of the 80's she came to Berlin and immediately began her Master's degree in Latin American Studies at the FU Berlin. At the UDK she specialized in curating art exhibitions. Suely Torres works as a photographer, curator and teacher of Portuguese.

Mariana Florio

Mariana is a Master's student in International Relations at the Free University of Berlin. Professionally, she is interested in sustainable development. She contributes with transcriptions and translations to the museum and enables a wider audience to experience the videos.

Fernanda Sumita

Fernanda studies Social and Cultural Anthropology and Theater Studies at the Free University of Berlin. She is a performer, video maker and actress and in 2020 made the short film "Curupira" in collaboration with two other migrants. Through her works, she seeks to experience and narrate complex narratives.

Laura Gröbner Ferreira

Laura studies the Master Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at the Free University of Berlin. Her interests lie in urbanism, culture, and media. At DMM, she is involved with translations, transcription, and more recently, social media.

Anna Sara Portugal

Anna Sara is responsible for the educational planning of the DMM. In 2020, she completed her bachelor's degree and teaching degree in History at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. As a fellow, she worked at the Laboratory of Education and Heritage (Laboep) between 2014 and 2019, where she did interdisciplinary work on heritage, education and museums.
